SmarTex Compression Therapies

Next-Generation Compression. Clinically Engineered.

Compression Therapy System Integrating MicroFilament Artificial Muscle

Our Mission

To improve lives with the next generation of compression therapy, delivering superior outcomes while reducing healthcare costs globally.

The problem

We know compression therapy works, but current options are rigid, hard to don, and deliver inconsistent pressure over time. Static garments lose compression with movement and swelling changes, pumps are bulky and noisy, and neither provides real-time feedback or personalization. The result is poor adherence, variable dosing, skin complications, and costly clinician time to size, refit, and monitor patients effectively at scale.

We knew we could do better.

SmarTex is an Australian medtech spinout from UNSW Sydney, founded by engineers, clinicians, and operators. We apply microfilament artificial muscle technology to create adaptive, sensor-ready compression garments that actively maintain therapeutic dose, conform to changing limb shape, and stay comfortable. This is the next generation of compression therapy—precise, personalized, and easy to use at home and in clinic.

Our Technology

Revolutionizing patient outcomes through wearable smart garments integrating hydraulic artificial muscles with precision-controlled, adaptive therapeutic compression.
